For You… I am Thankful…

Jer 30:19 And out of them shall proceed thanksgiving and the voice of them that make merry: and I will multiply them, and they shall not be few; I will also glorify them, and they shall not be small.

With the dawning of each new day, early in the morning hours when all are still sleeping, I get up and go to our meeting spot.  Thank you Lord for talking with me. You allow me to enter into Your Presence. As I do, I feel Your awesome calm in the midst of this world of pressure & stress. As You take time and shower Your loving kindness upon me, I am reminded of situations in life.

You allowed me to feel the brokenness of a store clerk who was surrounded by a throng of people. Though many were near, she was still very alone and hurting inside. For a moment of time I was able to feel her despair. I was able to see her through Your eyes Jesus. Like always, You made the perfect moment in time and permitted me to utilize a small portion of Your grace and mercy to speak sincere kindness into this lady’s life.

When the Unemployment account ran dry with a few more weeks of lay-off still to come, You stepped in. Although the office said the balance was zero/$0, you sent checks with the proper amount each week until it was time to go back to work. It was not until then that the account was REALLY empty. You met another need.

What about the time the riding lawn mower wouldn’t work and my eldest son (who was elementary age) told me that if we’d lay hands on it and pray that Jesus would fix it… and You did!

Memories and testimonies of You, too many to count. There’s the healings (people and animals), near death conditions, deliverances, awesome opportunities to minister to a soul in need, everyday life circumstances and decisions, financial, food, material and other provisions, comfort in times of loneliness and despair, joy for strength and many miracles and answered prayers.

I’m thankful for Your Truth that was once delivered unto the saints. Your holiness that I am able to cuddle up in like a child who in his father’s or mother’s arms feels love and protection from the “outside world”.

Above all, my time spent in Your Presence, just You, Your Word and me is the most precious thing in my life. I can live without much in this life, but I can not and choose not to live without You.

     With Love; Your Friend

A THOUGHT:

Thanksgiving holiday in America is this month; yet for a child of God, is not everyday truly a day of Thanksgiving? Do we get so busy or caught up in the daily grind of life that days and weeks pass by with out us really taking the time to enjoy Your sweet Spirit as we meditate and express our Thanksgiving just because You are You? Or how many occasions have we passed up to love you… just because we love you?

Let us consider this Thanksgiving Day to reflect on the precious memorials that have been mile-marked along life’s highway. Ask the Lord to anoint your mind and your spirit to recollect the abundant blessings and benefits that He has bestowed upon you and your loved ones. Perhaps we could join around the dinner table and reminisce of the testimonies of the Lord, lest we so soon forget and fail to pass them on to our children, our children’s children and all those that are to come.

With a thankful heart, may we seek to bless and be a blessing to the Lord.   So we thy people and sheep of thy pasture will give thee thanks for ever: we will shew forth thy praise to all generations (Psa. 79:13).

MEDITATION:
  • Psa 26:7 That I may publish with the voice of thanksgiving, and tell of all thy wondrous works.
  • Psa 69:30 I will praise the name of God with a song, and will magnify him with thanksgiving.
  • Psa 75:1 Unto thee, O God, do we give thanks, unto thee do we give thanks: for that thy name is near thy wondrous works declare.
  • Psa 78:4 We will not hide them from their children, shewing to the generation to come the praises of the LORD, and his strength, and his wonderful works that he hath done.
  • Psa 89:1 I will sing of the mercies of the LORD for ever: with my mouth will I make known thy faithfulness to all generations.
  • Psa 97:12 Rejoice in the LORD, ye righteous; and give thanks at the remembrance of  his holiness.
  • Psa 100:4 Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.
  • Psa 102:12 But thou, O LORD, shalt endure for ever; and thy remembrance unto all generations.
  • Psa 102:18 This shall be written for the generation to come: and the people which shall be created shall praise the LORD.
  • Psa 107:1 O give thanks unto the LORD, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.
  • Psa 107:22 And let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare his works with rejoicing.
  • Psa 116:17 I will offer to thee the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and will call upon the name of the LORD.
  • Psa 145:4 One generation shall praise thy works to another, and shall declare thy mighty acts.

… Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift.
